Chapter 5: Apologies

"Antonio. Oh my god it's just you. How did you get in?"

"I still have my key. Gabi you're as pale as a ghost. What's wrong?"

"Nothin you just scared me. That's all."

"Yah. I could tell. You have very powerful vocal cords." He said with a laugh.

"What are you doing here?"

"I come to see you."

"And."

"And. Nothing." Antonio saw the card that Gabi had so carelessly tossed a side before and picked it up.

Gabi realizing what he was about to see stopped him, "Antonio, No. Wait."

"Happy HorrorDays? Who sent you this?"

"I don't know. I just want to forget about it. I was nothing compared to the phone calls."

"Phone Calls?"

"Never mind, Antonio. It was probably just some dumb prank."

"What if it wasn't. I ... I worry about you Gabi. In fact I do more than worry about you. I love you."

Gabi turned around to look at Antonio, shocked by his words, but still obviously angry "If you loved me so much why wouldn't you leave the priesthood for me?"

"Gabi, I..."

The man stood outside Surf Central in the rain, Antonio had just walked in.

"Damn." He thought. Now his prey wasn't alone. He was having fun torturing Gabi. The head the card and that was just the beginning. He vowed to destroy everything she held deer to her. Starting with her precious Antonio.

Maria sat on the edge of her and Ben's bed. He had long since gone to bed. But she couldn't sleep. Something about the rain and the thunder scared her. At first she thought it had something to do with her falling of the Mariah, but now she wasn't so sure. The oddest was it was if she had some how done this all before.

"What happened those five years I was in Seattle?" She wondered into the dark.

She was finally here. Back in Sunset Beach. Back to get her revenge on all the people who had done her wrong. She wasn't sure how yet. But she did know was that they would pay. They would know what real pain was really like.

She pulled a knife out of her pocket, and began stroking the blade with her thumb.

The silver blade gleamed in the lightning. 'Murder may be just the tad bit drastic, but you never know, I may just put Gabi out of her misery. For good.'

Ricardo sat at his table looking at picture of Gabi, Antonio and him. It had always thought that something had been out of order, but this from them. He really didn't believe that he would be able to move on from this and what was killing him the most was that Maria had know. His mother had trying to warn him. It was his own fault that thing had turned out the way he did.

'Why do I still have to love them. I would be so much easier if I could just hate them.' But he didn't. He loved them and there loved each other.

"Gabi, I…"

Antonio was interrupted by laughter. Meg and Casey appeared, drenched to the bone.

"Hey guys. Were we interrupting something?" Casey asked.

"No. Casey, You weren't Antonio was just leaving." Gabi said coolly, not looking at Antonio.

"Are you sure?" Meg asked.

"Yes. It's late I really should be going anyway. Goodbye."

Gabi quickly walked away into her room, leaving Casey and Meg wondering what had really just happened.

'Great, Antonio leaves just as Kansas and Buff get back. Gabi better be alone soon. I'm running out of time. Sooner or later, she'll realize. No I can't let that happen. I hid just so she wouldn't or anybody else for that matter. Calm down. She'll never ever find out. Gabi's head is too far in the clouds for that. I'll just have to be a little careful. Then when the clock strike midnight, 2000, Gabi and all her friends will be no more. I'll see to it.' The man laughed, evil and patronizing. Then walked away into the fog.
