Chapter 4: Fear

Antonio sat in his car, his head resting on the wheel.

"Oh, God, How things get this bad this fast?" He wondered. He sat there for a while looking at Surf Central. He could see the sillawet of Gabi's body as she walked by the window on her way to her room. He so much wanted to hold her, touch her, and be with her.

"What am I thinking, She's still married to my brother. Then again that never seamed to stop me before. I gotta get outta here."

Antonio drove aimlessly around town until he finally found himself in front of Ricardo's loft.

He turned the car off and walked to the front. An unshaven Ricardo answered.

"What do you want?"

"To talk. Apologize. Anything to get my brother back."

"Were you thinking about me when you were sleeping with my girlfriend?"

"I came over her to try… to try to talk to you, but you're making that impossible."

"I sorry that I'm mad you had sex with my girlfriend. I just thought you know that you don't sleep with your brother's girlfriend when you're a priest, but the may be just me.

"I'm sorry. I really am. I just want to have a brother again."

"Antonio, I can't. I can't forgive you, not until I can get the picture of you and Gabi out of my head. And you know I don't think I'll ever be able too."

7 Hours Later: Some Time Around Midnight
After three more strange calls, Gabi had finally called the Phone Company to try and get a new, unlisted number. Then she unplugged the phone. She really hoped whoever it was had finally given up trying to scare her. The first one was just crackling noises. The Next some one blowing into the receiver. The last one was the creepiest of all. A voice, a woman voice, that Gabi had recognized asking Gabi if she had been 'a very good girl this year. Because you know what Santa does to the naughty ones and Gabi you have been very naughty this year.'

Gabi was getting more and more scared by the minute. The thunder and lighting was too much for Gabi. All she wanted was for Casey and Meg to hurry up and get back home. She couldn't help but wonder where they were.

Gabi sat down on the couch listening to the crash of lighting, the boom of thunder and the pounding of her heart.

As the storm got closer and closer the thunder got louder and louder. Lightening flashing laminating Gabi scared pale face.

As the lightning got closer in reached it destination. There was a crack and Gabi was surrounded by darkness.

"It just darkness, Gabi. You're not afraid of the dark."

Gabi turned around to face the door when she heard rustling in the bushes. She heard someone trying to open the door. She saw the doorknob turning.

Gabi was to frighten to speak, immobilized in terror of what awaited her. She finally let out a blood-curtailing scream.
